AADA Webinar on Upcoming Changes to Temporary Tags July 31
During the recent legislative session, the 94th General Assembly passed Act 41 that goes into effect on August 1, 2023. Act 41 extends the time requirements for vehicle registration from thirty (30) days to sixty (60) days. This change also applies to temporary paper tags. In an effort to clarify this change, AADA is hosting a Webinar for dealers. We will have DF&A experts as well as AADA staff on hand to participate.
Extends the time requirements for vehicle registration from thirty (30) days to sixty (60) days;
Temporary paper tags will also be extended from thirty (30) to sixty (60) days. (27-14-1705);
This change will affect passenger cars, motorhomes, motorcycles and commercial trucks. Motorboats are excluded;
Trailer temporary tags will continue to expire in thirty (30) days; and,
The 60-day rule will affect vehicles purchased on or after 08/01/23. Vehicles purchased before 08/01/23 are required to be registered within thirty 30 days.
In addition to detailing these new requirements, the webinar will also update dealership employees on changes to the online SecureETag system.
As these changes impact a key area of dealership responsibility, all dealership employees are encouraged to join this webinar. This information will be of particular importance to those employees responsible for issuing temporary tags.
